I Swear My Dog Is Anorexic

My dog's name is Stubby, or Stubs. He's a mutt: yellow lag, shepherd, and chow to be exact. This combination makes him small, fast, partially blue tongued, and with a really short, stub of a tail.
For some reason, when he look in a mirror, all he sees on his sleek little body is fat. It's my job to feed him. I feed him every morning and every night. When I put food in his bowl in the morning, he doesn't eat it until dinner. If I give him food at dinner, he sometimes eats it, other times waits. He either hates breakfast, or is trying to loose a few pounds. That's not the only hint that he is trying to drop a leash size.
When we go to our beach house, we ride in a golf cart. Sometimes we let him run behind us, so we don't have to walk him later. Today we did just that. He was panting, obviously tiered, but he would not get into the golf cart. It's like he was trying to loose weight.
