Ke$Ha

I am honestly surprised by this celebrity. James got her album "Animal" for Easter (I got the Glee Volume 2 CD) and we listened to her whole album on the way home from the beach Sunday.
Here is what I think of her, and it's not what I thought I would.

1. The first song on her album is Your Love is My Drug. At first I thought I was listening to Lady Gaga, but only for a few seconds. The song picks up, and is actually pretty good. I rather like the chorus, the rest I don't care for. This song made it onto my Ipod.

2. TiK ToK. I like writing this titles just as much as I like writing Ke$Ha. I hate writing Ke$Ha. But forget about the way it's written. This is an upbeat song, bad message, good beat, very popular, fun to sing. Yeah, it made it onto my Ipod.

3. Take It Off. Does the beat sound familiar? She put new lyrics to that old song "There's a place called mars," hand game. Not only that, but the song is inappropriate, annoying, and stupid. This DID NOT make it on my Ipod.

4. Stephen. Wow. Going from the previous songs to the start of this one startled me. She sounds, nice. This is one of my favorite songs on the album. She shows some true voice talent, and the song is relatively appropriate. I wish she took out the talking in the middle, and the background voice-alteration. That would make the song better. The line near the end "Stephen, I'll nit you a sweater," made James and I crack up laughing. This obviously made it on my Ipod.

5. Blah Blah Blah. Uhh... no. Next! Don't like this song, never have, never will. Did not make my Ipod.

6. Hungover. Also one of my favorite songs on the album. It's got everything I look for in a song. Nice beat, good lyrics, nice vocals. Ke$Ha shows how good she can really be. Not my favorite song in the world, but it's very good. Yes, it made it.

7. Party at a Rich Dude's House. Ugh. Bad message, and just bad in general. Not on my Ipod.

8. Backstabber. Doesn't really do much for me. Too much going on besides her singing. Didn't make it on my Ipod.

9. Blind. I don't know why, but I love the beginning of this song. It's got a nice beat, and her voice blends with it. James agrees with me when I say, this is one of her bests songs on the album. What makes it better then other songs is that she doesn't have too much voice alterations. It made my top four songs, and my Ipod.

10. Dinosaur. She reminds me of a cheerleader in this song. I like the whistling, but other then that, I don't like this song at all. This didn't make my Ipod.

11. Dancing With Tears In My. Eyes YES! I love this song! Yes! Yes! Yes! Best song on her album.

12. Boots and Boys. Who compares boots and boys? The comparison is good, but the message is bad, the beat is bad, the singing is almost non-existent. And it doesn't exist on my Ipod.

13. Animal. Good song to title the album after. It's good. I like the beginning, very mysterious. Good vocals. Shows the best of her. Yes, this did make it onto my Ipod.

Overall I thought she sounded/looked like a mix between: Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Pink, a cheerleader, Avril Lavigne, and Britney Spears.

What do you think of her?

Good job analyzing the songs. But since you said she sounds like Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, a cheerleader, and Britney Spears, I wouldn't listen to her. I prefer... well... guess.

  3. I haven't listened to all of the songs, but I don't think Taylor Swift enters the mix at all. Maybe it's because I like Taylor Swift, and Ke$ha is...well...interesting, but I don't know.
